What does “Predominantly natural” mean on a pearl report?
“Predominantly natural” without any additional qualifications (like “contains some cultured pearls”) means that no cultured pearls have been conclusively identified during testing. However, it is possible that if the pearls are X-rayed in another position (which may be inaccessible due to stringing or mounting), subsequent growth structures indicating cultured pearl could be found.
